High School College Fair Toolkit

This High School College Fair Toolkit gives school counselors everything they need to help students feel prepared and confident before, during, and after a college fair. Rather than simply walking from table to table collecting brochures, students are encouraged to ask thoughtful questions, interact with college representatives, and intentionally explore their postsecondary options and goals.

The included College Fair Scavenger Hunt turns the event into an engaging, purposeful experience by challenging students to speak with representatives and learn about topics such as academic programs, financial aid and scholarships, community college pathways, transfer options, career opportunities, student support services, and more. Students record what they learn along the way, helping them explore a variety of options and discover opportunities they may not have considered before.

What’s Included:

• College Fair Scavenger Hunt
• College Fair Sentence Starters
• College Fair Permission Slip
• College Fair Exit Ticket / Reflection Activity
• Digital, editable Google versions
• Easy-to-edit templates
• Instructions for accessing and customizing the resources

The College Fair Sentence Starters help students feel more comfortable approaching representatives and starting meaningful conversations, while the Exit Ticket and Reflection Activity encourages them to think beyond the brochures and identify opportunities they want to research further, questions they still have, and actionable next steps.

Perfect for high school counselors, college and career counselors, advisory programs, and college readiness programs, this toolkit makes it easy to structure a purposeful and engaging college fair experience from start to finish. Plus, the resources are digital and editable in Google, so you can customize them to fit your students, school, and specific college fair.
