Social Sleuths is an easy-to-implement 10-week elementary school counseling small group curriculum. Social Skills are an integral part of students' education and success. This social skills small group helps students learn the crucial skills they need in order to have better relationships with others, both inside and outside of the classroom. Students will practice getting to know others, dealing with losing, asking someone to play, problem-solving, regulating emotions, and more.

Week 6: Understanding your feelings

Week 7: Understanding others' feelings

WHAT’S INCLUDED EVERY WEEK:

Group Rules: Suggested and DIY Group Rules poster so students can take ownership of the creation of the group rules and norms

Feelings Check: Feelings Check Poster to serve as a visual aid for students to self-reflect on their emotional state at the start of each session

Outlines: Easy to follow outlines with clear objectives

Games & Activities: A wide variety of games and activities each week including sorting games, matching games, charades, role playing scenarios, calm down strategy cards, coloring sheets, and more!

Self-Assessments: Pre and post group self-assessments to track student growth and make data collection easy!

BENEFITING STUDENTS

Each week students will develop social skills they can use at home and in school to help them maintain friendships, work in groups, deal with frustrations, build confidence, and have a better overall quality of life.

At a minimum, being in the group allows students to identify and share their feelings, develop confidence through participation, and practice empathy while hearing others’ experiences.

SAVING TIME:

With easy-to-implement outlines and activities, this group curriculum is very low-prep. Simply print out each session before students arrive and keep them in a file folder.

WHO IS THIS GROUP FOR?

Social Sleuths is designed for small groups of students who are struggling with social skills in grades 1-5. It can also be modified to work for other grades and individual lessons.
